Betty on the News: African Orphanage Takes in Baby Elephants

Caretakers will look after the young elephants until they are old enough to survive on their own.

An orphanage located in Nairobi, Kenya has taken in more than 20 baby elephants that were affected by shrinking habitats, drought or poaching.

The animals, which are also rehabilitated at the facility, benefit from the luxurious wilderness, soy milk and plenty of TLC.

“After working with these elephants, it’s no longer just a job,” chief keeper Edwin Lusichi revealed. “It is from inside your heart, the love that you have for these animals.” (CNN)
